In 1981, with interest rates topping eighteen percent, third grade
teacher-turned Realtor Martha Fuller Turner opened her own real estate
office. Houston was reeling from the soaring rates, houses were not
selling and foreclosures were mounting exponentially. When stunned
friends and colleagues pointed out to Martha that Realtors were exiting,
not entering, the real estate market, she smiled broadly and said, "That's OK.
I'll be the only one selling houses!" and she was serious.
Martha Fuller Turner is first and foremost an optimist and a visionary,
traits she developed as a child growing up in Hemphill, Texas. As far as
Martha is concerned, if you can see it in your mind, you can achieve it;
her enthusiasm knows no bounds. She is the embodiment of a Dale Carnegie
quotation: "Flaming enthusiasm, backed up by horse sense and persistence,
is the quality that most frequently makes for success."
Almost three decades later, that hole-in-the-wall brokerage is a nationally
recognized award-winning multi-faceted company with five stand-alone offices
in the Houston metropolitan area and Galveston and a nationally recognized
award winning relocation division. Growth is important; it widens our
horizons and in our increasingly diverse population, broadens our client
base. As we have transitioned into a smoothly operating larger company,
growth has not altered our focus and excellence in real estate is still the
credo of everyone who works in the company.
